Let’s Raise Money Together

One of the P&C’s primary goals is to raise money to help support our school. At the end of each year, the P&C agrees on a fundraising plan for the following year, including an agreement on how the money will be spent.

One of the best parts of the Fundraising Committee and the various fundraising events, is the opportunity to meet new people and socialise at all stages of planning and implementation. We work hard putting these events together but we also have a lot of fun!

The Fundraising Committee is always looking for new ideas and new helpers, so please get involved if you can. There are a variety of activities which change from year to year whilst others have become a tradition at Beacon Hill. The Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day Stalls are one example.

If you have any questions or feedback about the Fundraising Committee you can contact the Fundraising Coordinator directly, pop a note in the P&C mail box in the office, or contact the P&C Vice President via email, on

How much do we raise and what do we use the money for?

The P&C, via its Fundraising Committee and all the many, many helpers, makes such a valuable contribution to our school. Over the past several years, the P&C has typically raised $20,000 to $30,000 each year. In recent times, the P&C has raised enough funds to provide interactive whiteboards in every classroom, to upgrade soft fall in the playground and to install the playground equipment.

We are currently providing financial support for the purchase of smart screens for the classrooms, a digital noticeboard for the front of the school and the renovation of the vegetable garden to make it a working kitchen. The P&C supports projects which benefit all children and the entire school community is indebted to the fundraising committee and all their helpers for their efforts to raise the funds.

We try to balance our fundraising activities to consider the school calendar, daytime and nighttime events, social events, events with and without children, and events which are low cost to participants or which offer greater fundraising potential.

How can I get involved?

The best way to be informed about fundraising activities is reading The Beacon each week and checking class emails. Each activity has a coordinator who will be able to give you more information about opportunities to help out.
